Top 8 Disney Pro Tips For Disney’s Magic Kingdom

When most guests picture a Walt Disney World vacation, they immediately see images of Cinderella Castle, classic attractions like Peter Pan’s Flight, and lands like Tomorrowland and Adventureland. All of these beautiful things and places can be found in the Magic Kingdom where most guests love to spend the majority of their time while on vacation. Guests who visit the Magic Kingdom can explore lands of fantasy and enjoy both classic and thrilling attractions that transport them to different places and times. With so many wonderful experiences waiting in the park, Disney pros have some tried and true tips which can help guests get the most out of their time there by saving both time and frustration. Here are the top eight Disney pro tips for Disney’s Magic Kingdom.

8. Arrive for Rope Drop

The top Disney pro tips that guests can use to maximize their time on a Disney vacation is to arrive at the four theme parks for rope drop each morning. Arriving for rope drop requires that guests get to the parks before they officially open to ensure that they are some of the first guests inside. Those who arrive for rope drop in the Magic Kingdom are treated to a welcome show that includes the townsfolk and Mayor of Main Street as well as a plethora of Disney characters who ride in on the Walt Disney World Railroad. After enjoying the show, the gates of the Magic Kingdom are open and those who arrived for rope drop are some of the first to enter the park where they are rewarded with few crowds and low wait times.

7. Adventureland First

Once inside the Magic Kingdom, guests should opt to head for Adventureland first. Since many other guests tend to head towards Tomorrowland or Fantasyland to enjoy Space Mountain or the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train early on, heading to Adventureland is a great way to beat the crowds. There guests can enjoy classic attractions like the Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean, and The Magic Carpets of Aladdin with low wait times.

6. Do The Mountains Early

After enjoying Adventureland, Disney pros love to head over to Frontierland to enjoy two thrilling attractions which usually have lower wait times in the morning hours. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad brings guests into the mining town of Tumbleweed for the wildest ride in the wilderness. Along the way guests can spot tons of wildlife, a dinosaur skeleton, and plenty of caves and caverns filled with bats. Next door in Frontierland is Splash Mountain which brings guests on a journey with Br’er Rabbit as he looks for more adventure while trying to evade escape by Br’er Fox and Br’er Bear. The soaking journey ends in a thrilling drop down into the Briar Patch which guests are sure to love. Both Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Splash Mountain are popular with guests, so Disney pros love to enjoy the attractions in the morning before the crowds make the wait times very high.

5. FastPass Peter Pan’s Flight

One of the most beloved attractions in all of Walt Disney World can be found in the Magic Kingodm’s Fantasyland. Peter Pan’s Flight brings guests through the Darling’s house where they are sprinkled with pixie dust. After boarding their pirate ships, guests take to the skies to soar high over London and Neverland with Peter and the Darling children. This classic attraction can easily have hours long wait times on busy days in the park, so guests are smart to book a FastPass to be able to enjoy the experience with little to no wait time.

4. FastPass The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

Also found in Fantasyland is one of the newest attractions in the Magic Kingdom which invites guests into the world of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train shows guests the beautiful mines where the Dwarfs work all day and then allows them to sing along when the work day is done. Guests can enjoy gently swaying mine carts and beautiful views of nearby Fantasyland and New Fantasyland. Since the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is still relatively new and very popular, guests flock to it resulting in generally long wait times. Disney pros know that the best way to enjoy the experience is to book a FastPass!

Space Mountain brings guests to Starport 75 where they are invited to board rockets and blast off for an adventure that is thrilling. Guests whip around inside the mountain in near darkness and can enjoy sudden twists and turns and scream worthy drops before returning to Earth. Since Space Mountain is so popular with guests looking to enjoy a big thrill in the Magic Kingdom, the best way to enjoy the attraction is to book a FastPass to save lots of time that would have otherwise been spent waiting in the standby line.

2. Don’t Skip The Classics

Disney pros know that one of the best ways to truly enjoy the Magic Kingdom is to stop and enjoy all of the classic attractions which sometimes get overlooked by guests who are heading to more popular attractions like Splash Mountain and Space Mountain. Guests who want to enjoy all that the Magic Kingdom has to offer should be sure to take their time and stop to enjoy the Swiss Family Treehouse, Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room, the Country Bear Jamboree, the Hall of Presidents, Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress, and The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover.

1. Line Up Early For Wishes

Each night in the Magic Kingdom is amazing as nighttime entertainment brings the lands to life. The Magic Kingdom features a beautiful fireworks show each night called Wishes Nighttime Spectacular. The show occurs in the skies over Cinderella Castle and combines breathtaking fireworks with Disney music and characters accompanied by a narration by Jiminy Cricket. Wishes Nighttime Spectacular is extremely popular with guests, so Disney pros know that the best way to score the perfect viewing spot is to line up early!
