Spending A Romantic Evening At Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World is great for family trips and the memories that come with. Just take a stroll anywhere on property and you will see smiling children, balloons, matching shirts and families basically just having fun. That’s the image that Disney wants to project and they have done a great job hands down. However, there is a whole other side. Disney has a department that plans incredible engagements, magical weddings, and relaxing honeymoons. There are so many ways to make the happiest place on Earth also the most romantic place on Earth. Whether you want to create an incredible milestone with your significant other, a romantic date night someplace magical, or just need a break from the kids with your spouse then here are some tips on how to do it.

Romantic Restaurants:

There are many places on Disney property to spend a romantic evening. There is no way to cover them all so I’ll include a few suggestions. If you would like a high- end dining experience that leaves you feeling truly pampered then I would suggest either Victoria and Albert’s at The Grand Floridian, Monsieur Paul in the France Pavilion in EPCOT World Showcase, or Be Our Guest in Magic Kingdom. While these places are pretty pricey and reservations are a bit tough to get they are definitely worth the experience.

  • Victoria and Albert’s is a recipient of the AAA 5 Diamond Award and has gotten rave reviews in Zagat. They feature modern American cuisine with exquisite ingredients from around the world. It all happens in a beautiful Victorian dining room setting which evokes the feeling of a genteel era from when dining was an elegant ritual rather than just something we had to do.
  • Monsieur Paul will make you feel as though you are spending a luxurious evening in one of Paris’ finest restaurants. Located upstairs from Chefs de France, this restaurant has incredibly breathtaking views of World Showcase. The wine list alone is impressive but the traditional French cuisine will exceed expectations of even the pickiest of foodies.
  • If you prefer dining in a royal setting than Be Our Guest in Magic Kingdom is for you. Upon entering Beast’s Castle, you will be led into the Grand Ballroom. It looks every bit as authentic as the movie. There is a gorgeous ceiling mural (complete with the only hidden Minnie in WDW) and you can actually see the beautiful snowfall against the night sky through their large elegant windows. The food and wine list are amazing and while they have two other rooms to dine in, the Grand Ballroom will make you feel like you are in one of the most romantic Disney movies of all time.

Disney Engagements, Weddings, and Honeymoons:

Milestones in your life such as these should be celebrated properly and captured on film in the most beautiful way possible. Luckily Disney has a way to help plan all these experiences for you and make them everything that you have ever dreamed of. Do you want to ask your soulmate to be your princess or prince in front of the castle, on a safari, or in a spot special to you both? Maybe you want to recite your vows in a gorgeous wedding pavilion on the water or in a park that is only open to you and your guests at the time. Those are both possible through the magic of Disney. If you have already made it official then spend your dream honeymoon at a Disney resort. You can find all of these planning services at https://www.disneyweddings.com/. If you don’t have the budget for these extravagant things (like a lot of us don’t) then you can make that memory without the expense. My husband and I are both Disney dorks and Star Wars nerds. He proposed to me in front of the AT-AT statue at the Jedi training stage in Hollywood Studios. All he did was find a Photo Pass photographer, secretly tell them what he was about to do, and have the cast member distract me while he pulled out the ring on bended knee. Any Photo Pass employee will help you with this type of thing provided they are not swamped with a 30-person line at the time. Disney makes magic happen every day and if you ask politely they will help you create your own magical moment even if you are on a shoestring budget.

Where To Leave The Kids:

Disney offers in room babysitting for children ages 6 months to 12 years. This option allows your kids to play games, do crafts and read all in the comfort of your hotel room. Of course, this service comes with varying fees but they aren’t too steep. If you need a few kid free hours then it’s definitely worth looking in to.

Night Shows and Fireworks:

All 4 parks at Walt Disney World have night shows complete with fireworks. Magic Kingdom has Happily Ever After, Animal Kingdom has Rivers of Light, Epcot has Epcot Forever, and Hollywood Studios has Fantasmic and Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular. All of these shows are unique, brilliantly done and there are few things more romantic then watching the sky light up with that special someone. At peak times of the year large crowds can make this experience a bit unpleasant when everyone is crammed in close quarters. Luckily all 4 parks offer private viewing areas for an additional fee. This provides guests a much more relaxing experience with the same stunning views. Dessert or dinner is included in the price of these special experiences so it really makes it worth the price. Grab your favorite person, a glass of champagne, and some fabulous food and watch the magic unfold.

Disney has so many ways to celebrate your love. Choose the experience that is right for you or choose several! Have you had a romantic Disney experience of your own? Feel free to share and give others some inspiration. There is nothing better than celebrating the love in your life and your love for Disney at the same time.
