Minnie’s Seasonal Dine to Take Over Lunch at Walt Disney World’s Hollywood & Vine

Lunch at Hollywood & Vine in Disney’s Hollywood Studios has been Disney Jr. Play ‘n’ Dine for several years.  The lunch has welcomed various Disney Jr. characters at the character dining location for guests to interact with with they enjoy the lunch buffet offerings.  It has been announced that starting May 14th, the Disney Jr. Play ‘n’ Dine lunch will be no more and it will taken over by Minnie’s Season Dine.  Currently Minnie’s Seasonal Dine is the dinner offering at the same location.  Dinner has been themed to the season or holiday at the time (Spring, Summer, Halloween, Christmas, etc.) with characters like Minnie, Mickey, Goofy, Donald and Daisy dressed in themed outfits and greeting guests.

Minnie’s Seasonal Dine will still be the dinner offering and will offer the same character experiences at lunch.  Lunch reservations for Minnie’s Seasonal Dine are expected to be available on Disney’s website starting February 1st.  The Disney Jr. characters will still be at Hollywood & Vine for breakfast, and you can still meet these characters later in the day at other locations in the park.

FastPass+ makes it easier for you to get more out of your day at any of the four Walt Disney World theme parks. If you’re staying on property, you can make up to three reservations 60 days in advance, for everyone else it’s 30 days. You can make a fourth selection at the park after you’ve used the first three. At Disney’s Hollywood Studios FastPass+ is in tiers, you can pick one selection from Tier One and two from Tier Two. Here are six of the top FastPass+ selections for Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

6. Fantasmic!

Sunset Boulevard

Fantasmic! is an incredible way to end your day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The show features water screens, lasers, fire effects, boats, music, live action, and plenty of characters. Fantasmic! is incredibly popular, and the seats fill up quickly on busy days. FastPass+ can reserve your seat for you. This is especially important if there are two shows and you plan to see the early one. If there are two shows FastPass+ might not be needed if you plan to see the second show, it’s usually less crowded. Fantasmic! is currently a Tier One selection, so you might want to use it for your fourth FastPass+, since there are two more popular attractions that you will probably want to try to grab instead.

5. For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration

Echo Lake

If you have a family member who is crazy about Frozen, you might want to use one of your Tier Two selections on For the First Time in Forever. There are several shows throughout the day, but they will be crowded if the park is busy, and you don’t want to miss out. The show features songs and characters from the hit movie, and Frozen fans love it.

4. Star Tours – The Adventures Continue

Echo Lake

Star Tours can be borderline on whether you need a FastPass+ or not. The ride isn’t usually busy when the park first opens, or at the end of the night. The line can get long in the middle of the day. Star Tours is a must-do, even if you’re not a Star Wars fan, because it’s a lot of fun. If you are a fan of the franchise, you will want to ride more than once, so this is a good Tier Two FastPass+ to use. The ride changes each time, there are dozens of possible combinations. You’ll have to ride repeatedly to hit them all. For Star Wars fans, riding over and over again makes for a great day.

3. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

Sunset Boulevard

Tower of Terror is a thrill ride unlike any other. You’ll learn about a fateful Friday the 13th, then board an elevator and risk sharing the same destiny. The elevator will drop 13 floors, rise, then drop again. It happens repeatedly, and the sequence is random so you won’t know if you’re about to head up or down. Tower of Terror is a Tier Two FastPass+ choice. The lines are often manageable first thing in the morning or near closing, but they do grow long in the middle of the day. If this is on your must-do list, use FastPass+ to be on the safe side.

2. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith

Sunset Boulevard

FastPass+ is cruel when it comes to Tier One selections. The two most popular rides in the park are both on the tier, which means you’ll have to hurry across the park to the other at rope drop. If you’re into thrills, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is a must. It’s the only Walt Disney World roller coaster that goes upside down, which happens three times. The ride doesn’t just start, it launches. You won’t look back, especially since the whole thing is in the dark. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster has a single rider line, which is something you might want to consider if you couldn’t get a FastPass+.

1. Toy Story Mania!

Pixar Place

Toy Story Mania! is the ultimate family ride. You will play carnival style games in 3D, with the help of your friends from Toy Story. This is also Tier One. If you can’t get a FastPass+, get there as soon as the park opens because the line will grow long quickly. It is not uncommon for the Wait Time to be an hour or longer, even on days that aren’t busy. If you do end up waiting, one bonus is that the line is indoors. The theme of the queue line is a lot of fun. You’ll walk through your favorite childhood games as you wait, so if you don’t have a FastPass+, it isn’t all bad.

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
