Book New Pirate & Mermaid Experiences Coming to Walt Disney World Resort Hotels

Pirates and mermaids are extremely popular among guests of all ages, so we are very excited to learn that there will be new, amazing experiences coming to various Walt Disney World Resort hotels.  We have a look at the new experiences for you from Disney Parks Blog.  Check them out below:

Captain Hook’s Pirate Crew

Captain Hook’s Pirate Crew, Located at Disney’s Beach Club Resort

This experience is for guests who are ages 4 to 12.  The young recruits will get to learn the ways of pirates and follow clues that will lead them to hidden treasure and being named to Captain Hook’s Pirate Crew.  The kiddos will get to go around the resort and sail on a pontoon boat around Crescent Lake.  After the treasure is found, then the group will get to enjoy a Pirate Feast, which includes items like Cannon Meatballs with marinara or macaroni and “gold” sauce for entrees and then a treasure chest treat or fruit for dessert.  The event costs $55 per child, plus applicable taxes.  This event will be offered starting on April 28th, 2019 and reservations are already open.  Guests can book by calling 407-824-KIDS.

Mermaid School, Located at Select Walt Disney World Resorts

Guests have the opportunity to see what it is like as part of Ariel’s world by attending the Mermaid School at select Walt Disney World resort hotels.  The experience is for guests ages 4 and older.  The experience includes an hour-long class where guests are fitted with a swimmable “tail” and led through activities that teach them how to swim like a mermaid in the pool.  The Mermaid School will be offered at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts on select dates.  The class costs $50 per person, plus applicable taxes. Guests can book starting in mid-March by calling 407-WDW-PLAY.

Cabanas, Located at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts

Reservations are now open for rentals of the new poolside cabanas at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts.  This is a luxurious experience for guests, featuring a private hideaway with a variety of services:

  • Padded furniture (chairs and couch)
  • Dedicated Disney cast member service
  • Cocktail service
  • Mounted television with cable access
  • Complimentary sunscreen and other skincare products
  • Mini-refrigerator stocked with complimentary soda and water
  • Complimentary fruit tray
  • Plush towels
  • Lockable cabinet
  • Charging outlets for mobile devices

These new cabanas are exclusively for guests who are already staying at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts. Reservations for half and full day rentals are now open for dates beginning March 17th, 2019 by calling 407-WDW-PLAY.

New Art Programs, Located at Select Walt Disney World Resorts

For those of you who love to paint and experience art-related activities, you are going to love these experiences.  There are new classed that will be offered at select Walt Disney World resort hotels to help guests create their own amazing works of art.  The classes vary and also have different price ranges from $35 to $50, plus applicable taxes per person.  Most of the experience are only available to guests who are ages 12 and older.

Here is a look at some of the offerings:

  • Win, Paint, Show at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa
  • Wild About Painting at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
  • Painting on de’ Bayou (adults) or Painting by the Lagoon (kids) at Disney’s Port Orleans – French Quarter Resort.
    • NOTE: The children’s painting class is $30 per person (plus tax) and is designed for ages 6 and older, but accompanying parent is required.
  • Painting in the Vineyard at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts
  • Canvas and Wine Glass Painting on the Boards at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn

Fishing Excursions

For you fishing fans out there, there are guided excursions or dockside fishing in the waterways of Walt Disney World Resort. Guests can board a 21-foot SunTracker pontoon (up to five guests) or a tournament-style NITRO bass-fishing boat (for one or two participants) for the outings.  Outings (two or four hours) are catch-and-release. The fleet has been joined by a new NITRO ZV21, which is operating out of the Magic Kingdom marinas. For more information or to book an excursion, guests can call 407-WDW-BASS.
