9 Places To Dance at Walt Disney World

Everyone knows it’s perfectly natural to want to dance when you’re happy, and Disney World is most certainly a place where people are happy. Therefore, it just makes sense that people want to dance while they’re there. For some people, this is as simple as cutting a rug in the middle of a line queue or throwing some skips into their walk down Main Street, U.S.A. However, many others shy away from this kind of spontaneous dancing, preferring a dance party or at least a dance floor to show off their slick moves. Luckily, there are plenty of opportunities to dance, no matter which type of dancer you happen to be. For those who prefer designated dance floors, here’s a list of our favorite places to boogie down in Walt Disney World Resort.

1. Move it! Shake it! Dance and Play it! (Magic Kingdom)

What could be more magical than dancing in Magic Kingdom? Nothing! That’s why the “Move it! Shake it! Dance and Play it!” street party is the ideal place to get footloose. This street party features upbeat music, favorite characters, and lots and lots of awesome Cast Members to jump, hop, and spin with dancing guests of all ages. Don’t miss this super fun event during your visit to Magic Kingdom!

2. Discovery Island Carnivale (Animal Kingdom)

It’s great for adults and kids, making it the perfect family activity, and the atmosphere gets everyone in the dancing mood for sure.

3. Viva Gaia Street Band! Performance (Animal Kingdom)

Of course, Animal Kingdom is just as fun during the day when the Viva Gaia Street Band is playing. This amazing group is tons of fun to watch, but even more fun to dance along with. Don’t worry! You won’t be the only one dancing. In fact, the group usually encourages audience members to show their stuff, meaning plenty of people both big and small will be busting a move.

Adults looking for an experience that’s a little more…well, grown-ups have the option of heading over to Atlantic Dance Hall on the Boardwalk. This location is everything you could want from a dance hall, including the best music of the ‘80s and ‘90s, a giant screen, a bar, and a large and lovely dance floor. There is a minimum age of 21 to enter, but there is no cover charge for this particular Boardwalk nighttime spot.

5. Raffy Performance (Epcot)

Want to do some dancing in Epcot? We highly recommend heading over to the Canada Pavilion for one of the performances by Raffy. This fun-loving music group plays plenty of upbeat tunes that are just perfect for dancing feet. There is a nice open area in front of the stage, and there are almost always people dancing along to the performance.

6. Donald’s Dino Bash (Animal Kingdom)

Little dancers will adore the newest Animal Kingdom dance party, Donald’s Dino Bash. This celebration of life features a number of Disney friends, and all of them have one thing in common: They’re birds. Boogie down with Scrooge McDuck or dance the night away with Donald himself. Whoever you choose to dance with, you’re sure to have a blast.

7. The Edison (Disney Springs)

Another great option for Disney-going adults is The Edison in Disney Springs. This awesome, steampunk-style restaurant transforms each night at 10pm to becomes an amazing adults-only cabaret with live music, an open dance floor, and plenty of other entertainment. The minimum age to enter during this nightly event is 21, and there is a cover charge of $15 per guest.

8. Disney Junior Dance Party (Hollywood Studios)

On the opposite end of the spectrum, the Disney Junior Dance Party coming this fall to Hollywood Studios is ideal for toddlers and preschoolers. Many beloved Disney Junior pals will be guests at this exciting dance party, and the music will all be geared toward the younger set, with many favorite tunes from Disney Junior shows. On top of all that, this party features a heaping helping of bubbles, something very few little guests can resist.

9. Tomorrowland Dance Party (Magic Kingdom)

Last but not least, we must mention the long-running Tomorrowland Dance Party. While the most recent version of this party closed recently, we are certain we will see another iteration once again, and it will likely be just as fun as the many that have come before it. When running, this party takes place nightly and is found near the entrance to the People Mover in Tomorrowland. Characters are often found getting their groove on at the party, but even when they aren’t, the DJ keeps things fun and interesting.
