8 Things You’ll Love About Teppan Edo At Walt Disney World

Teppan Edo is a brilliant example of high quality, accessible, fun, Disney dining. Located in the Japan Pavilion in Epcot, Teppan Edo is a hibachi style dining experience that has amazingly delicious authentic cuisine. There are so many things to love about this unique restaurant. Take a look:

1. Main Menu

The menu at Teppan Edo is pretty awesome. What’s really great about it is that it has all authentic Japanese cuisine, but if someone in your party isn’t the most adventurous eater, there’s plenty of tame authentic food too. From edamame, to tempura, to rice and noodles, to filet mignon and lobster: Teppan Edo’s got you covered. Just get all of it. It’s amazing.

2. Entertainment

Being Disney, this isn’t your ordinary dining experience. The incredibly skilled chefs make your lunch or dinner one to remember. Teppan Edo is a hibachi style restaurant, so the chef comes right to your table to grill your meal to perfection. While he cooks, he strikes up conversation and has a bit of fun with the guests. Get ready to catch some flying shrimp and see a real live volcano!

3. The View

The views from the inside of the restaurant itself are not spectacular (if there are any at all!). But in order to get to Teppan Edo, you have to climb the stairs of the pagoda. The patio before the entrance wraps halfway around the building and gives you a spectacular view of the World Showcase Lagoon and Spaceship Earth herself!

4. Uniqueness

Hibachi style is a pretty unique way to dine. The restaurant is therefore laid out differently, with all of the grill tables in one massive room. Your party is generally seated with other families that you get to know and dine with. The chef makes things unique too by putting on an impressive culinary show. It’s such a cool experience to dine right in front of the action!

5. Sushi

There are not a ton of places in Disney to get sushi, but Teppan Edo is one of the few! The selection here isn’t huge, but the quality is what counts. You can get the classic California roll or go big with the sushi selection of spicy, California, and nigiri! My personal favorite, however, is the shrimp tempura roll!

6. Adult Beverages

Teppan Edo has a surprisingly large adult beverage menu! They have a ton of specialty cocktails that are not Japan specific necessarily, but still incredibly tasty. The standout adult beverage at Teppan Edo is obviously the sake. They have ten different kinds to choose from! But if sake’s not your thing, they also have Japanese wines and beers to try!

7. Green Tea Ice Cream

I could an entire vat of this stuff. Green tea ice cream admittedly sounds a little strange at first, but it’s a classic at Teppan Edo! Green Tea is a big dessert ingredient at this restaurant. There’s green tea sponge cake, mousse, and just normal ice cream. That’s my fav. You can also swirl it with vanilla if you want!

8. Lunch and Dinner

A serious perk about Teppan Edo is that it is fine dining available at either lunch or dinner. This makes it easily accessible in the middle or at the end of a long day in the park. I love being able to sit down for a great meal as a sort of break from my park day. Teppan Edo is great for this! But it’s also nice enough that it’s a great dinner option!
