5 Things You Will Love About Beaches & Cream Soda Shop At Walt Disney World

First let me tell you where Beaches & Cream is located. It is in Disney’s Beach Club resort, which is right next to the International Gateway entrance to Epcot’s World Showcase. They take reservations now, so be sure to get that lined up. If you do not have a reservation you can pick up some to-go items but nothing like the full experience of eating there.

5. Fun 50’s Atmosphere

The soda shop tables, chairs and booths, tin ceiling, working juke box, as well as the Cast Members costumes take you back to an era of sock hops and malt shops. Some of the lights look like ice cream cones! Go ahead and make some selections on the Juke Box to listen to while you are in there.

4. The Beverages

The beverages will assure you this is a good soda shop. Choose from sodas infused with a flavor you choose, malts and milkshakes and root beer floats to sip on while you enjoy the ambience. Look around as you wait for your order to be delivered to your table. People are really having fun! There is something about this place that successfully makes you forget the heat outside, the stress of getting back to the park before your FastPass+ expires. It takes you to a different era where people slowed down and really enjoyed being with family and friends. The beach balls remind you that you are at the Beach Club resort, somewhere on the east coast of the US.

3. The Great Food

No really, they have really great food here! I have not had a bad meal here. Choose from a variety of Angus Beef Burger, Classic Patty Melt, a grilled Reuben Sandwich, or a Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Tomato Bisque that is made the way your grandmother made them, will not disappoint you. There are vegetarian choices, Onion Rings, and even bowls of Chili. There are more sandwiches and salads offered but be careful not to eat too much, you want to leave room for dessert!

2. Ice Cream Variety

The flavor of the ice cream and the variety of ice cream desserts will blow you away! This ice cream is at the very top of favorite ice cream spot lists for good reasons. The ice cream tastes creamier and has a fuller flavor although all Walt Disney World ice cream is good, this is the best. You can build your own Sundae selecting your ice cream flavor and then no less than 10 topping choices. There are nine other items listed in the Dessert section of the menu and you cannot go wrong with any of them. My favorite is the No Way Jose which is chocolate and vanilla ice cream topped with chocolate and peanut butter chips, peanut butter, hot fudge, whipped cream and a cherry. These desserts are large enough for two to enjoy, especially if you ate one of those big sandwiches or salads they serve.

1. The Size of the Kitchen Sink

This is one of those other desserts I was telling you about. It is not meant to be shared by just two people, get more of your family or friends to join in on this one! This dessert is made with 8 scoops of vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, coffee, and mint chocolate chip ice creams. Then it is topped with every single one of those ten toppings they serve, and add to that come cookie pieces and brownie chunks. The toppings include marshmallow, strawberry, pineapple, peanut butter, hot fudge, chocolate syrup, caramel, whole cans of whipped cream, topped with toasted almonds and several cherries. They suggest four people to tackle it, and yes it is served in a small metal kitchen sink! Half the fun is watching the making of it. Watch as they add item after item then top it with all that whipped cream. Dig in and enjoy!

About Cassie

Cassie L. I am a lifelong Disney fan. I attended Walt Disney World in 1971, and was there during the opening week of EPCOT, and have visited the Disney Parks for than 30 times. I have had the privilege of visiting Disneyland as a child, and then again with my children. My family recently moved from the northeastern United States to the Walt Disney World area. I now have cast members in my family and enjoy hearing the magical stories at the end of a shift. I love visiting all of the parks and getting to try more Disney food and being able to share it with you to help you plan your own magical day at Disney.
