5 Reasons We Love Be Our Guest Restaurant At Walt Disney World

As one of many, many people who just couldn’t wait for Be Our Guest Restaurant to open, I suspected even before dining there that this restaurant would become a favorite of mine. And I was certainly not wrong! There are simply no other restaurants in Magic Kingdom – and few, if any, on property at all, in our opinion – that can compare in terms of atmosphere, food, and overall magical experience. The only problem, in fact, will be narrowing the list of reasons to love this restaurant down to just five!

5. The Most Important Meal of the Day

While I’d recommend numerous trips to Be Our Guest to experience the different menu options for every meal of the day (you’ll want to come back to try the gray stuff – it really is delicious!!), our favorite meal to enjoy here is definitely breakfast. What better way to start a magical day at Walt Disney World than with a lovely French breakfast served in the splendor of the Beast’s castle?

Quick-serve breakfast is served from 8:00 am to 10:30 am. You’ll start the meal with a delicious selection of pastries, for the table to share. From French croissants to cinnamon rolls and pain au chocolat, the pastry tray will be a hit, especially for any guests with a sweet tooth! Then continue your meal with a Croque Madame breakfast sandwich, the hearty Feast a la Gaston, or a meat and cheese tray (a fluffy vegetable quiche is available for the vegetarians at the table). Then complete your breakfast with some coffee, tea or juice, and leave to enjoy your day in Magic Kingdom with a full stomach! Mrs. Potts would approve.

4. The Ease of Magical Ordering

Be Our Guest is open for every meal of the day, and offers quick-service for breakfast and lunch. Order-Ahead Dining is available for guests with breakfast or lunch reservations, so you can peruse the menu at your leisure and pre-order your meal online, up to 30 days ahead of your dining adventure. Or you can place your order via touch-screen upon arriving, and your food will soon magically appear at your table while you wait! Ordering really couldn’t be easier. Or more magical! While ordering ahead for dinner isn’t an option yet, guests now have a prix fixe menu to choose from to enjoy a 3-course dinner.

3. Choose Your Favorite Castle Room

While the food is predictably fantastic (it is, after all, Walt Disney World) and the service is utterly magical, for us the real reason to flock to Be Our Guest time after time is the inspired ambience. There are three extravagantly themed dining rooms, each perfectly recalling locales right out of Beauty and the Beast. The Ballroom is huge and gorgeous; clouds and cherubs smile down from the domed ceiling, luxurious crystal chandeliers twinkle, and soaring gothic windows provide a glimpse of falling snow beyond, no matter the season. You’ll expect to turn and see Belle and Beast waltzing by your table!

Step over the threshold into the West Wing, and you’ll enter Beast’s dark, foreboding (and forbidden) study. This is our favorite room in the restaurant, and we always make a beeline for it to try to snag a coveted table. While you wait for your food, wander around and marvel as underneath the claw marks, the portrait over the fireplace changes from prince to Beast. You’ll also want to watch as the enchanted rose slowly drops its petals within its glass jar. With lightning flashes, Haunted Mansion-style decay, and eerie sound effects, this room couldn’t be more different from the lovely grand Ballroom next door – but it provides the backdrop for a meal that is just as memorable!

Lastly, you can choose to dine in the Castle Gallery, where you’ll soak in the ambience of Belle’s library, and watch larger-than-life dancing figures of Belle and Beast. Tapestries and artwork decorate the walls, and keep an eye out for all the carved roses! If you’re anything like us, you’ll want to come back multiple times to enjoy dining in each location.

2. Impressive Exterior

Because of the immense popularity of this restaurant, reservations are HIGHLY recommended, and even with reservations, you may still have a bit of a wait. Luckily, Disney’s thought of everything, and you will have plenty to keep you entertained as you wait. You’ll first approach a crumbling stone archway at the entry to the restaurant. Then, while crossing the moat, you’ll have plenty of photo opportunities with exquisitely detailed Beast gargoyles hanging on the lampposts leading up to the castle. Make sure you look up to see the enormity of the Beast’s castle rising from rocks above, and look to your left to see the beautiful waterfall cascading into the river below you. As you approach the castle, you’ll notice huge wooden doorways with the Beast’s iconic rose depicted in stained glass above, while a pair of massive stone lions guards the doorway. Intricate iron gates and the Beast’s coast of arms complete the tone for your upcoming dining experience. Like all of Disney’s attractions, it’s about the journey, not just the destination, and your wait for Be Our Guest Restaurant will not only be well worth it, it will be an adventure unto itself.

1. Fairy Tale Extras

As if all of this wasn’t enough to have even the most restrained Beauty and the Beast fan belting “Be Our Guest!” at the top of his/her lungs, the restaurant offers exclusive add-ons to make a meal experience even MORE memorable. You can arrange for a “First Wish” gift (a fairy-dusted rose, and a silver and crystal wishing star charm bracelet) to be placed on your table before you are seated. Or you can delight a special guest by setting up a personalized “Fairy Tale Proclamation” gift experience; she’ll arrive at her table to discover a personalized proclamation from her favorite Disney princess, a princess robe and tiara, and a light-up crystal slipper waiting for her.

We were lucky enough to stumble upon a meet-and-greet with Beast the last time we were at the restaurant. There’s nothing quite like meeting and posing with Beast inside his very own castle, either before or after enjoying a fantastic meal and the best dining ambience to be found anywhere in Magic Kingdom!

***

Every time we dine at Be Our Guest, we discover something new and delightful. Both of our sets of parents have accompanied us there at different times, and the restaurant never fails to amaze and impress even the most demanding Beauty and the Beast fan! But don’t take my word for it. Come explore for yourself, and discover why Be Our Guest restaurant is one of the most fabulous dining opportunities in Walt Disney World!
