Walt Disney World is home to four theme parks that each feature their own unique themes, attractions, entertainment, and dining. Of those four theme parks, guests love to spend time in Epcot thanks to the parks two distinct halves that come together to form a cohesive whole. The front of Epcot is home to Future World which celebrates the beauty and wonder of nature and the innovation and constant changing of technology. The rear of Epcot is home to World Showcase which features eleven different pavilions that each celebrate a country from around the world through architecture, history, culture, attractions, dining, entertainment, and shopping. With so much to see in Epcot, it is no wonder that the park is so popular with guests. During the busy seasons, Epcot can become extremely crowded leaving guests to figure out how to enjoy the park when the wait times are very high and pathways are particularly crowded. By following a few tips for crowded days, guests should be able to make the most out of the busyness and enjoy their time in the park. Here are ten ways to survive a crowded day at Epcot.
10. Arrive For Rope Drop
Guests who want to make the most of a crowded day in Epcot should be sure to arrive for rope drop. Arriving for rope drop entails getting to the park before it officially opens and waiting to be let inside. While waiting, guests can enjoy the ambiance of Future World and often hear a welcome speech that tells them about the experiences that await them inside. Once Epcot is officially open, guests who arrived for rope drop are some of the first inside where they are rewarded with low wait times, few crowds, and quiet areas of the park.
9. Soarin’ Around the World First
Once inside of Epcot, guests should bypass Spaceship Earth which tends to bottleneck first thing in the morning and experience longer than normal lines. Instead, guests should head straight for The Land Pavilion where they can find Soarin’ Around the World on the lower level. Soarin’ Around the World brings guests into a massive airplane hangar where they take to the skies for a completely unique hang gliding adventure over some of the most beautiful locations in the world. Guests can enjoy flying over the Great Wall of China, Sydney Harbor, Monument Valley, Mount Kilimanjaro, and more with minimal wait times first thing in the morning.
8. Single Rider Test Track Presented by Chevrolet
Another popular attraction in Epcot’s Future World invites guests to partake in the design element of the automotive industry. Test Track Presented by Chevrolet brings guests into the design studio where they can create their very own SIM cars. Guests can then test out their designs on the track in Power, Responsiveness, Capability, and Efficiency. Since Test Track Presented by Chevrolet is popular with guests, it tends to have long wait times on busy days in Epcot. Guests who want to enjoy the experience without the long wait should opt for the Single Rider line which offers up the same experience with a typically much lower wait time so long as guests don’t mind being split up at the loading platform.
7. Enjoy the Fountain of Nations
Guests who spend time in Epcot or any of the Disney Parks tend to overlook some of the most beautiful and amazing details and sights when rushing from one attraction to the next. On a crowded day in Epcot, guests should slow down and enjoy the ambiance of the park and a great location to do so can be found just behind Spaceship Earth. The Fountain of Nations is a massive fountain that features a special show several times per hour. Special music comes on and the Fountain of Nations comes to life with dancing water that shoots high into the air. Enjoying this show is a great way to beat the crowds for a few minutes and simply enjoy the park’s beauty.
6. FastPass Frozen Ever After
One of the most popular attractions in all of Walt Disney World can be found in the Norway Pavilion in Epcot’s World Showcase. Frozen Ever After brings guests into the kingdom of Arendelle where Anna and Elsa are hosting a summer celebration. Guests can sail into the kingdom and see familiar characters like Sven, Kristoff, the Trolls, and Marshmallow on a wonderful adventure. Since Frozen Ever After is extremely popular, the wait times are typically high on a regular day in the park let alone a crowded one. Guests who want to enjoy the experience without the lengthy wait time should book a FastPass in advance.
5. Enjoy the Underrated
Since the popular attractions in Epcot are sure to be busy on crowded days in the park, guests should opt to enjoy less popular attractions that are often considered to be underrated. While these attractions are typically overlooked by many guests, they are wonderful in their own ways. Some underrated attractions to not miss in Epcot are The Seas with Nemo and Friends, Living with the Land, Journey into Imagination with Figment, and Ellen’s Energy Adventure.
4. Enjoy the World Showcase Attractions
World Showcase is a massive area of Epcot and guests enjoy spending time walking through each pavilion. While each of the pavilions of World Showcase is wonderful, there are several that also feature attractions that guests should not miss. The Mexico Pavilion features the Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Cabelleros where guests can tour the country with Jose and Panchito in search of Donald. Norway is home to Frozen Ever After which was mentioned before and the China Pavilion features the film Reflections of China which highlights the beauty of the country in circle vision. The America Pavilion is home to the American Adventure which tells the story of the American people using audio-animatronics, artwork, photography, and more. France features Impressions de France which highlights the beauty and wonder of France while accompanied by music from French composers. Finally, the Canada Pavilion is home to O Canada! which shares the diversity and wonder of Canada in a circle vision film.

3. Fully Explore World Showcase
While many guests stop to enjoy the attractions of World Showcase, they often don’t spend very long exploring the pavilions themselves. Each pavilion is brought to life through amazing detail that is shared through architecture, artwork, artifacts, and décor and guests who pause to appreciate it all really feel as though they have traveled the world. Busy days in Epcot are a great time to spend exploring the pavilions of World Showcase as many guests are primarily concerned with attractions instead.
2. Stop For Dinner
Crowded days in the park can become frustrating, and a great way to avoid this is by stopping to enjoy dinner in one of the many wonderful full service restaurants in Epcot. Guests who dine in the park can enjoy authentic cuisine from around the world in popular locations like the Coral Reef Restaurant, Le Cellier Steakhouse, Nine Dragons Restaurant, Monsieur Paul, and Via Napoli. While there are plenty of amazing dining options in Epcot, guests should be sure to have Advanced Dining Reservations to avoid missing out on a great meal!
